Rampley forceps have oval, serrated jaws for holding swabs to clean the skin or the operative field.
Process with the ratchet open. Do not use hemostatic forceps as needle holders or on hard objects, which spoils jaw alignment. Check that the jaws close evenly and the ratchet holds.
