Choosing surgical and dental instruments is easier when you know what to check before you order. This short guide is written by INSTRUMED (Pvt.) Ltd., a Sialkot, Pakistan manufacturer and exporter of surgical and dental instruments since 1974.
1. Start with the instrument type and pattern
Scissors, forceps, retractors and needle holders each come in many patterns, lengths and tip shapes. Note the pattern name and the item code so that your supplier quotes the exact instrument. In our shop you can search by name or by item code, and compare up to three products side by side.
2. Check the quality system and documents
Ask whether the manufacturer works under ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality systems, and whether CE documentation is available for the products you need. See our quality and certifications page.
3. Look at finishing and handling
Check how the instrument is finished, how the jaws or blades meet, and how it is marked. Instruments that are ground, finished and engraved in one place are easier to keep consistent from one order to the next.
4. Ask about stock, lead time and quantities
Some instruments are kept in stock; others are made to order. Tell us the quantity you need and we will confirm lead time with the quotation.
5. Consider OEM or private label
Distributors can order under their own brand. Start with the distributor and bulk inquiry page.
