Standard-pattern operating scissors are the everyday cutting instrument of theatre, ward and clinic. The choice of tips sets the job: blunt/blunt for working close to tissue without risk of puncture, sharp/blunt for cutting sutures and dressings while keeping one protected tip, and sharp/sharp for precise cuts and getting under fine sutures.
Design features
- Three tip combinations: blunt/blunt, sharp/blunt and sharp/sharp
- Straight blades for general cutting; curved blades for better sight lines in the wound
- Screw joint for smooth, even closure along the full blade length
- Balanced ring handles for comfortable control
